2011 ONELL Rules Summary for Officials

Pre Game Conference Review rules below with team captains and officials
Game Time 15 minute running time
Stop time last two minutes of each half
Stop time for delay of game, injury or time out
2 minutes between quarters
5 minutes at halftime
10 minutes running time for single overtime period (except post season)
Penalty Timing 1.5x NCAA penalty times in running time (i.e., 45 seconds for technical four; 90 seconds for personal foul)

NCAA penalty time if the penalty occurs during stop time (last two minutes of each half), and shall apply to the time when the penalty occurred
Coin Toss If request to determine choice of which goal each team will defend
Visiting team "calls" toss in the air; winner chooses goal to defend or alternate possession.
Time Outs 2 one-minute time outs per half per team, with no carryover
1 one-minute time out per team for overtime
Face Off "Old" NCAA rules apply (prior to 2005 rules change)
4 inch wide stripe & associated stick separation not used
Official's call of "Down", "Set" then whistle.
Clears 20 seconds to advance ball over midfield line (pre-2011NCAA rules)
10 seconds to advance ball into offensive box area (pre-2011NCAA rules)
10 seconds to return to box if ball leaves offensive box area (pre-2011NCAA rules)
Count to be used in all games (NOT optional by mutual agreement)
Get It In/Keep It In Last 2 minutes of 4th quarter for team in the lead, excluding wing/alley
Play On Traditional play on is in force; whistle when ball hits ground
Alternate Possession In force
Long Sticks Maximum of 4
Dive Rule Not used
Stick Checks No mandatory stick checks; can be requested by team captains
Body Checks No more than 3 steps prior to hit; NCAA rules apply otherwise
Fighting 3 minute non-releasable penalty and game expulsion
Officials report incident to League Commissioner
Take-Out Checks 3 minute non-releasable penalty and game expulsion
Officials report incident to League Commissioner
In official's view check was "to intentionally cause serious harm or injury"
Maligning Officials 3 minute non-releasable penalty
Game expulsion for second offense in a single game
Weather Game called in first half - including halftime - game is to be rescheduled, if possible
Game called in second half - leading team is awarded win; tie awarded if score is tied
